I'm laughing inside right now because I've got Tyra Banks "You wanna be on top?" theme song running through my head. The other part of me is grimacing because I've been reduced to taking notes from her show.
The economy sucks. It has sucked, it is sucking, and it will continue to suck for an unknown length of time. As a young college student getting and English degree as well as Film degree, which are both "useless majors," I am kind of at a loss when it comes to looking for a summer job. I've done the restaurant thing, I've done the nanny thing, and I am done with searching Craig's List day after day to no avail.
So what does this have to do with America's Next Top Model? Directly, nothing. Indirectly, I've been accepted to William-Copeland Talent Agency, and am hoping to pursue a summer "career" in part-time modeling and acting. Heavy on the acting, if possible; at least that's something I can take a little pride in. The fact that I'm 5'4" also limits the jobs I can book as a model (thank you Lord Jesus for making me short).
So here I sit, the summer wasting away, wishing I had a steady source of income, and hoping against hope that I have what it takes to make the model/actress shindig work out. Need some advertising? Ah, never mind...
For your amusement, my resume and headshot.
